When the specific gravity is different, the position of the float will change. Generally, when the SG is smaller than water, the part of the float immersed in the liquid will increase relatively.
The reference specific gravity for float switch products is water (SG=1), so when selecting a float, the specific gravity SG of the liquid level must be considered, which must be greater than the float specification. Otherwise, the float switch cannot float. For liquids with high viscosity that will not dry up, stainless steel float balls are generally used.
The PP float switch uses a magnet to sense the magnetic spring switch, so the measured liquid level should be free of iron filings, otherwise the iron filings will stick to the float and the float will not float, which will affect the action of the float switch.
Types of float switches :
Stainless steel float switch: Provides two configurations for vertical and horizontal installation, using one 30VA or 100VA reed switch output, which can reliably detect the liquid level of relatively clean water, diluted chemicals, and light oil. Suitable for liquid level measurement of high temperature or high pressure process storage tanks.
Linkage float level switch: can reliably detect multi-point liquid levels of relatively clean water, diluted chemical solvents, and light oil, with a large range of 8 '(2.44 meters). Using 1-5 reed switch outputs, there is an integrated wiring terminal inside the integrated containerized junction box. Suitable for liquid level measurement of high temperature or high pressure process storage tanks.
Magnetic levitation ball level switch: often used in tank level control. No external power supply, side or top installation, wide temperature and pressure range, diverse process connections, stainless steel liquid connection and explosion-proof design, suitable for a wide range of applications.
Side mounted float switch: without external power supply, installed on the side or top, with a wide temperature and pressure range, and a variety of process connections. The stainless steel wetted part and explosion-proof design make it a widely applicable float level switch.
Cable float level switch: It has two chambers and is completely sealed during processing using a special process. Different switching points can be adjusted through the counterweight at the cable end. The non-toxic and mercury free properties make cable float level switches suitable for use in drinking water.
Multi point stainless steel float switch: provides up to 4 switch points, which can be used for PLC or SCADA remote equipment inspection and control. Typical applications are in environments where high-temperature and/or high-pressure process tanks require explosion-proof certification.
